S2E16 The Power of Forgiveness in Marriage Part 1
Tuesday May 06, 2025
Tuesday May 06, 2025
Friends,
In the next two episodes, I am on the other side of the microphone as a guest with Jean and Colin MacKenzie, hosts of the podcast, Connected Conversations with Holy Union Connect. I share my insights on misconceptions about forgiveness, the intersection of faith and science, and the transformative power of leaning into the Holy Spirit for guidance. We explore the nuances of unresolved childhood trauma and its impact on marriage. This episode offers valuable tools and encouragement for couples striving to overcome struggles and embrace forgiveness as a journey rather than a destination.
As a couple with over 30 years of military and family life experience, Jean and Colin have navigated their share of struggles and triumphs. In their podcast, they share the wisdom of the Catholic faith, and practical strategies for building strong, faith-filled marriages. The MacKenzies help couples fight for their marriages with purpose and offer encouragement and tools to strengthen the bonds between husbands and wives.

S2E14 Finding the Father's Love: The Power of One Adult in Trauma Recovery
Tuesday Apr 22, 2025
Tuesday Apr 22, 2025
Friends,
In this episode, I reflect on my Lenten journey with the KNOWN program and my quest to have a deeper relationship with The Father. I talk about the findings of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study that emphasize the impact one caring adult can have on the future outcomes for children in trauma. I tell about my uncle Isaac John Michaels, who represents the love of the Father that I so needed as a young child exposed to domestic violence. I pay tribute to him by reading an excerpt from my book, With You Always, A Journey with Jesus titled, Tending the Garden. I conclude with words of encouragement from scripture and a request to share the story of your one adult
